Happy Halloween!

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I've been a witch for Halloween more times than I can count so, of course Amelia was a witch for her first Halloween :) I made her costume; it was one of the most frustrating and difficult things I've ever sewn because of how small it is. I sewed it together on accident twice. But it turned out pretty adorable!

I have a blog??

Well, I'm guilty again. I will be the first to admit I'm not good at keeping up with these things. With a new baby, going back to work (even though it's just part time), and well, just life (not to mention all the new shows on!) I forgot to blog. Le sigh. Story of my life, right?

I've been busy working on my new novel, STAY. I've talked very little of this book in the past. I'm not trying to make it some secret project, I just haven't written a blurb yet. And I will put that off for as long as I can because I hate writing blurbs. It is so much easier for me to crank out 70K words than to write 500 or so in a blurb. Everything I write sounds lame to me and I start over. And I have the issue of wanting to include EVERYTHING the book has to offer. That, of course, gives away pretty much the entire plot. Obviously that is a problem. I might start working on an unofficial blurb sometime this week...or maybe not. If I get one written, I will of course post it.

The cover of STAY is done and it is amazing! I will do a cover reveal closer to the release date, which is still TBA since I'm slowly chugging along trying to get the damn book finished. I know exactly what needs to happen. I just need time. Amelia is a 'hold me diva' which means I don't have much time to write. I don't mind holding her of course, in fact I love it. She is three months today and the time has just flown by. It really feels like it was just a few weeks ago I was in labor and we came home with a very tiny baby. I feel sad that she's not a newborn sometimes. She fits in size 1 diapers and wears 0-3 month size clothes now. She's getting so big!

But now she smiles, giggles, coos, plays with her hanging toys on the play mat, holds her head up, rolls from her belly to her back, and can entertain herself for small amounts of times. Her smiles are so beautiful and she gets more and more fun and 'interactive' as she grows of course. I just think about that and I don't feel so sad about her growing! She is and always will be my little girl :)

I went through Contagious and made some changes before my Permuted editor goes through it. There were a few scenes that have minor changes in dialogue so things are clearer and presented in the way I had intended them to be presented. Nothing major will change in Contagious or Deathly Contagious since you guys have already read (and loved!) them.

Other than writing, I've been sewing costumes. I made Amelia a very adorable witch costume for her first Halloween. I had no idea sewing something to TINY would be so flipping hard. I sewed the damn thing to itself more than once. I was tempted to light it on fire more than once as well. In the end, I resisted the urge to get out my lighter and the costume turned out so incredibly cute.

I'm working on a Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Cosplay now. I've wanted to do it for a long time and actually designed the costumes back in February. I was pregnant then so I didn't even bother making myself a costume. Three friends are doing it with me, and we are going all out and including our horses.

I am Conquest (or Pestilence, depending on what interpretation you read) since Conquest rides a white horse. (Mystery is white). I've finished my dress and just have to add embellishments and make my armor, weapons, and crown.  Then I have to figure out the best way to make armor for the horse. It needs to be something that can withstand movement. I'm hoping to have my costume done in a week or two so I can start working on War, who is going to wear a crap ton of armor! (And so is the horse!) I'm really excited about this Cosplay!
